The last of the Embers

This Flesh
that
you, O Novice,
just Seared
was already
burning
from last night's horror.
Pray tell, what you shall do
tomorrow,
when I am but
a handful of ash?

We sometimes neglect to realize with our whole hearts when there is little left to gather and hold.

Lovely and welcome.

Nice poetry in you usual poignant style. And I remember you commenting once that you do not understand poetry.

@TF - Thanks :) Yes, I think I hated peotry because it was bound by 'rules', you know sonnets-bonnets-hornets blah, blah. I am more comfortable with freestyle.
